Ten On Ten: March 2011

Back in February I stumbled upon a cool blog. On the tenth of each month you take ten photos, one an hour, for ten hours, then you post them on your blog. It's kind of a photo journal of your day. It's meant to help you look for the beauty in simple things. I however forgot that part and kinda just took random photos of whatever was my task at the moment. Next month I hope to be a bit more creative in finding the beauty around me. I was really wishing we were still in Hawaii for this, but missed it by one day. Oh well, come back soon to see some amazing photos of paradise! I miss it already!
Okay back to Ten on Ten. While I was excited to start this last night I have to admit that I forgot all about it this morning til about 9:20-ish. So, here goes.

A little blog reading to start my kid free hours.

Uploading CD's onto itunes in between loads of laundry. Both tasks seem to never end!

Getting ready to run over to the pre-school with the jogging stroller to pick up Evie.
A little pre-lunch snack with a hint of a stink-eye.

First day of weeding for the year! A whole garbage can's worth! Doesn't that seem excessive? I hope it's not a sign of how the season will go!

Another load to fold. At least the bed is made, that's rare.

Time to pick up the munchkins.
Shred, shred, shred
Vacuuming out the van for the first time in who knows how long!
Getting the table set for dinner.

There you have it! The hourly highlights of my day. Pretty typical I'd say. It was actually nice to be home and putter around after all of the running and excitement of the last ten days. Felt really good. I'm linking up to the fun over at ten on ten. I hope you will join us!

Photo Shoot Sunday: Rocking Horsey

Today's Photo Shoot Sunday is from February 2009. Evie had received
this rocking horsey for Christmas and
LOVED, L-O-V-E-D, LoVeD it!
Riding it was an obsession.
She would drag her horsey from room to room, and she would throw a fit if any other kid even thought about touching her horsey.
She rocked so fast on it that it would move across the rug and she would get stuck by the couch. That always ticked her off.
The horsey made noises and sang a song. One button on the left ear made galloping and neighing noises, the button on the other ear sang a song. Within a few weeks the song button stopped working.
If she was on her horsey that horsey was singing to her.
If anyone had the audacity to even touch the other button she would stop rocking, squawk at you and immediately turn the song back on.
I cannot believe that I have already forgotten the words to that song. Two years ago I never would have thought that that would make me sad.
She learned really quickly not to get going too hard, otherwise horsey was bound to tip you over right on your head.
She became an expert at pushing horsey right to the edge.
She has perfected that skill with her siblings as well,
heaven help us in the teenage years!
We were super sad when the day came that we realized Evie had outgrown her horsey.
It was a sad day indeed when horsey was put out to pasture.

Flashback Friday: January 2006

One thing that has been true about our home is that Halloween lasts all year long. We are always swimming in dress-ups and costumes around here. It is so worth it when times like this happen. For Christmas 2005, Ally had just received her Snow White costume. Ethan also got the Sharkboy costume that Garrett is wearing. It fit each boy a little differently. Good times.
Ally 4, Tyler 4, Ethan 6 1/2, Garrett 6

Ally was channeling Snow White, the Incredibles, Princesses and Fairies. Who says you can't mix it up?

Garrett was Sharkboy from the flop hit Sharkboy and Lavagirl. Did you notice the Shark teeth? He was also feeling the Incredibles a bit with those gloves.

Ethan as Anakin Skywalker-ish with a little Power Ranger mixed in.

Tyler feeling the Harry Potter vibe.

We Had So Much Fun!

Back in December we were lucky enough to get together with some of our college friends and their cute families. We went out to Tooele to Kim and Andy's. We went sledding with yummy hot cocoa to start our night off right.

Amelia and Sophie H., Julie B., Evelyn and Ally

Kim giving Amelia and Tess H. and Ally a push down the hill

Nate, Andrew B. and Jeremy H.

While the parents were boring and "only talked" the kids watched Despicable Me.
Abby B., Tess and Ameila H. and Ally

Jeremy & Steph H., Nate & Ronda, Kim and Andrew B.

The little ones all got along fabulously. They had a riot getting wet in the bathroom sink, using up all of Kim's band-aids and playing hide and seek under her blankets on her bed. We now have an idea of what triplets would be like!

We were trying to get a nice photo of us girls but Andrew just kept making us laugh! This was the best of 15!

Charlie's Angels Wannabe's
In case your wondering I'm the angry Angel. Apparently I don't know how to pull off sexy! :)
Oh well, it was super fun getting together with them and laughing our butts off ALL NIGHT LONG! Can't wait to get with them again!
