Yellowstone: Hanging in West Yellowstone

We decided we wanted to get the heck out of Dodge over Fall Break. Since the kids had never been to Yellowstone before we thought it would be perfect. We have been looking forward to this trip for weeks. Although our first day was chilly we had a great time. We also decided since we were gonna be up here it would be fun to have our family pictures done up here. So after we spent the morning at the Grizzly Discovery Center we headed to Big Sky country to meet our photographer. It was super cold but I think we will end up with some great shots. The kids were real troopers. We decided to stay at our time share which was the perfect idea, run around out in the cold all day then head back to the condo and sit in the hot tub or by the fireplace. Loving this.

Venture Cross Country 2012

Well, another season of Cross Country has come to a close. We had a great season, although short. The kids all did great and really worked hard. I look forward to seeing them this Spring in Track.

Helper Girl

Just when I thought my canning season was done, my tomatoes started pouring it on. I am so very grateful that I have this cute, little helper girl by my side.

Back In The Day

I had a great laugh today. I found myself in my old alma mater this afternoon, Wahlquist Jr. High. I enjoyed going down all of the halls and going down memory lane. I found myself back by the gym. By the trophy display cases. I was surprised to see two of my old track records still up from 1993.They are for the 880 relay and the Medley relay. In the 880 each person runs a 220m leg. In the medley the first two runners run a 220m, then the third leg runs a 440 with the final leg running an 880m.  At first I thought it was just left up there from neglect. No way could I still hold any part of a record from Jr. High, could I? Then I noticed that some of the records were newer, 2004, and even 2012. So, maybe? I gotta admit, I am pleasantly surprised. Guess I was a bit of a speedster, back in the day. Fun discovery.

Photo Shoot Sunday: Back To School Photo Shoot

I signed the kids up for some cool Back To School pictures this year. We were scheduled to have them on a Saturday evening but that weekend we were hit with a nasty wind storm so we rescheduled to Labor Day.
That turned out to be interesting. The girls and I had spent the
day up in Logan at my Mom's house canning tomatoes with my sisters and my mom.
I had to really hustle to get it all done and get home in time to get the kids looking great and off to pictures in time.
They just happened to be in Syracuse too so it was a bit of a stress. But as you can see they turned out GREAT!!
As usual it was well worth the effort to get them done.

Photo Shoot Sunday: Back To School - Old School Style

For Photo Shoot Sunday I have these beauties to share with you.
I took the kids to a Mini Photo Shoot for a local photographer who was doing a Back to School theme.
I think she did great! It was a very frazzled day. We had to reschedule because of the rain so
this ended up on Labor Day. I had spent the day up in Logan canning tomatoes with my Mom and my
Sisters. So, it was a rush to get home and get everyone photo ready. I was a wee bit frazzled by the end of the shoot. I do think it was well worth the effort.
