Evie's Birthday Highlights!

Mommy and Cincess Two Years and Ten Minutes after she was born!
We had such a fun time celebrating Cincess's 2nd Birthday today! After Chub's T-Ball game we came home to PARTY!
We had yummy cake and ice cream....we sang for the fifteenth time today and she opened her present! She was hilarious! I was surprised that she knew right away what to do with the candle. She was blowing before we even set it down on the table!
We gave her a set of all of the Disney Princesses that are just her size to hold in her little hand! She LOVED them! Like a dog protecting it's food she would all but growl whenever one of the other kids got too close for comfort! Those Princesses are hers! She about jumped out of her seat in excitement while Nate got them cut out of the box for her!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CINCESS!

Happy 2nd Birthday Cincess!

Cincess,

Wow! I can hardly believe my little baby is 2 years old! The time has just flown by! In those scary early days of having you with us getting you to 2 years old seemed so far away! I can hardly believe how well you have done and how fast you have grown! I have enjoyed the last two years with you so much! You are such a joy and a treat to have in our home! You are such a little sweetie and I am grateful Heavenly Father sent you to our home.... and then let you stay!. I love you so much! I love your determination, your slobbery kisses, your love of shoes! Your quest to turn everything into a "catch me if you can" game, your giggles, your chubby cheeks, your obsession with any and all babies! You are just too much fun! You will always hold a very special place in my heart...especially since you are my last little baby! Happy Birthday sweetheart!

Love, Mommy

Marital Compromises

Nate and I came up with a GREAT compromise today! We both encountered MAJOR pet peeves we have with each other and decided to join forces to eradicate these marital annoyances once and for all!

RONDA: I CANNOT stand it when...he puts empty sippy cups in the fridge. Or when he puts dirty dishes in or around the sink when the dishwasher is clearly begging for more dirty dishes so we can start the dang thing already! Lastly, when he puts leftovers in the fridge WITHOUT saran wrap!

NATE: He absolutly loathes going into the garage and finding-YET AGAIN- that I have secretly gotten impatient with how quickly the weed eating is getting done and used his weed eater incorrectly! AGAIN! Then it takes him almost an hour to correct what I have done wrong with the blasted contraption my yard can't live without!

So...after both experiencing said pet peeves at some point today we came upon the perfect marital compromise!
I vowed (yes...I said vowed! As in marital vow important!) to never again use his weed eater UNSUPERVISED! Ever Again!
He in turn vowed to NEVER again make me walk into my kitchen look in the fridge and or the sink and cringe!

Life around here should be even better now! That's saying something too b/c it's pretty dang good around here! So, if you're ever wondering how it is going just drive by and check out our weed eating!

Updates

I thought I would take a second and update you on a few things. I just put a bunch of pictures on the computer from our camera and wanted to show you a few highlights of the last 3 weeks. Also, I wanted to update you on Nate and his neck situation. So, here goes.....

We went back to Huntsman for his post-op appointment and also to see his Oncologist on Tuesday. Both appointments went very well. His surgeon is pleased with how Nate responded to all of the antibiotics. He feels that enough of the infection and inflamation will be gone that we can go ahead with the second surgery on July 9th. We are grateful Nate will atleast get to enjoy the 4th of July weekend before round two of this speedbump! He didn't get much of a summer last year, thus the excitement! His Oncologist also said that Nate is doing well and is still in Remission. Another piece of news is that after his next CAT scan in July he gets to go FOUR months in between his CAT scans instead of three. Nate is very excited about that since drinking two containers of Barium drink is not the most pleasant thing in the world!

On May 27th, Ally and her best friend Emma teamed up together to compete in their schools Triathlon! They did great! Ally began by running the race, then Emma rode her bike and then together they ran the obstacle course will holding hands! Not an easy thing to do!

Ladybug "Explaining" to me HOW she ran the race!

On May 30th, my sisters Heidi and Jen, their daughters Megan and Shaylen came over and we made my kitchen a sticky mess while making Strawberry Jam. It was great fun spending time with these women in my kitchen. We had to send out for more strawberries before the end due to Shay and Megan eating our supply while supposedly cutting them! The pictures below show evidence of the infraction!

Just a really cute one of Chub!

And proof that chocolate DOESN'T always make it better!
Finally, highlights of Ethan's TENTH birthday! We celebrated a little on Monday with his requested dinner of Mac and Cheese with hot dogs. Yummy, I know! Followed up by a rousing rendition of "Happy Birthday to You!" and the opening up of one present.
Mom and Tiny Man Ten Years and Two minutes after he was born!

The starter digital camera was a BIG hit!

To continue the celebration he invited 5 friends to go with our family to Toads Fun Zone for 2 hours of cake eating, presents, laser tag, arcade fun and mini golf! It was great, even with the heavy downpouring of rain and hail!

My favorite quote of the night was said by Ally. While we were getting all of the kids their mini golf equipment some of the others started without them. Once I caught up to them it became apparent that the kids weren't trying very hard. If the ball didn't go in the first try they would pick it up and drop it in the hole and move on to the next! Before the other kids had started they were already at the TENTH hole! Once I explained to the kids how to really play and convinced them to backtrack to the rest of the group and actually try this time Ally came up with this gem! As she threw her hands in the air in her most drama queen fashion she wailed, "But, Moooom! We're just KIDS!"

So there you have it! All caught up on the Mills crew! With just one more bit of news....
Chocolate really DOES make it all better!

Happy 10th Birthday Tiny Man!

Ethan,
I can't believe I have been blessed to be your mother for TEN years now! I love you so much! You are such a light and a joy in my life! I have enjoyed every minute of having you in my life and getting to know and love you! You are so sweet, smart, creative, helpful and loving! Just to name a few! I love your enthusiasm to learn and your love of all things Harry Potter! I love your desire to sing in the ward choir and the testimony you are gaining on your own through that effort. I am very proud of the great young man you are growing up to be! Happy Birthday Tiny Man! I hope it's a good one!

Love Momma

Ethan,
I remember like it was yesterday the day you were born. I thought I understood what love was and did not think it was possible to love more than I already knew. I would spend long hours with Mom talking to you through her belly and reading you stories. I remember the excitement of feeling you kick for the first time. Then you were born and it all multiplied a hundred times. You were sent to me to love, protect, to mold, and to guide. It amazes me how much we are alike and I think Heavenly Father chose your Mom and I for a very special reason.

I am so proud of what you have accomplished already in your life! You are so smart and funny. You have a real joy for life and make friends so much easier than I ever did. You have a special and strong testimony and I am so proud of the work you are doing on your own to grow it. I hope so many things for you. I pray daily for you. I would give anything to help you and love you more than I am able to write. You are my joy, my Tiny Man, my cherished son.

Happy Birthday, I love you,

Daddy

Remembering December 2005...

I came upon these pictures again the other day and remembered how much I loved them! I thought they were worth sharing since my blog is so new and doesn't go back that far! Ally was 4 years old and Ryland was 2 years old, they were having a great time playing dress up. I remember she thought she was so beautiful! Too cute!

Memorial Day with the Mathies....

We celebrated Memorial Day with Nate's extended family. On the way there Evelyn fell asleep while sucking her thumb! Where did that come from? We had a great time at the Mathie family BBQ. All of Nate's family was there except for M'Lissa and Kelly's family...we miss you! We had great food, great laughs and thanks to Daniel and Latrica a great water fight! What a fun way to celebrate Memorial Day!
