Halloween Happenings 2013

The night of ward's Trunk or Treat was bitter cold but that didn't stop the kiddos from running around like wild banshees getting as much free candy as they could. 

Ethan couldn't decide if he was too old to dress up or not so he went without a costume despite my telling him you are never too old to wear a Halloween costume. Ryland was Iron Patriot, Ally was a Peacock and Evelyn went as Minnie Mouse.

Daniella, the girl Power Ranger and Minnie Mouse. Poor Minnie, she kinked her neck right before coming and insisted she needed an ice pack despite the cold air outside. 

Ethan hustled to come up with a costume the actual night of Halloween. He made his costume out of construction paper. He is a Manga character from some book I have never heard of. He ended up having a great time running around the neighborhood with some friends. Glad he decided he wasn't too old. 

This photo was taken when Ally went with her friend to their ward trunk or treat. How I let this cutie out of the house and out of my sight I just don't know. 

I "dressed up" as Wonder Woman this year. The kids loved it!

Call me graceful.

Last night was not one of my most graceful of nights.

I had stopped by some of my Mia Maids houses after Evening of Excellence. I was visiting with one of the Mom's as I slowly made my way down their front steps. I thought I had made it to the driveway but I apparently had one last step. I took a step backwards, in heels no less, and stumbled to the driveway. I knew immediately I had hurt myself good. I hobbled to the car, drove around the corner and hobbled into the house. I had that foot up, on ice and ibuprofen in me in less than five minutes. It's a good thing too.  I went to the Doc this morning. Looks like a sprain and a torn tendon. Great. I swear to you, when a runner gets injured and isn't allowed to run, you hand them a mental illness. I am already going stir crazy. I am to be on the couch the first few days and use my crutches. I am looking at three weeks in the boot. The only time I get to take it off is in the shower. Super great. Should be able to run around Christmas. Great.

halloween 2011

Okay, so I am obviously a little bit behind on the old blog. Like usual. Let's move on shall we?

I finally got around to putting our Halloween pictures on the computer.
The kids were cute as always.
This year Evelyn opted to be a Mermaid Princess

No, she didn't go trick or treating in her princess shoes.
Actually most of these pictures weren't taken on Halloween night. Nate's work once again had their awesome annual Halloween party, so most of these pictures are from that night. You never know what kind of weather you will have around here on Halloween so I figured I would take advantage of the awesome weather and get our Halloween pictures done this night.

This actually isn't what Ally decided to be for Halloween this year. But at the party there are usually bounce houses, etc. so Ally chose this dance costume for a less high maintenance costume to wear. Good choice Al, and very cute!

Ethan wanted to be a Hogwarts Wizard this year. No surprise there!

Ryland figured he would be Darth Vader this year, since he has been almost every other Star Wars character already.

On Halloween night we lucked out and had great weather again! So, here is Ally in her real Halloween costume! Cleopatra! She has had this one planned out for almost a year now and has patiently waited to be Queen of the Nile!

Imagine my surprise when I caught a glimpse of my shadow! A Hunch-backed Witch!? Sounds about right! :)

Heavenly Father and Halloween

Evelyn asked me today what Heavenly Father was goimg to be for Halloween.
I told herI didn't know, probably just Himself.
She very matter of factly told me, "Nu uh, He is probly gonna be a ghostes!"

This is a photo heavy post for sure, but isn't that the best kind? The photos are in no particular order, just a smattering of my favorite ones of the kids pre Trunk-or-Treat. Ethan started out as the original Iron Man, then he morphed it into a Transformer-Ninja Inspired Iron Man. Ryland was the silver version of Iron Man. Ally was a stinking cute pink and black witch. Evelyn was a fairy, of course. :)
