First Day Of School -2011

Well, school has been in for over a month now, so I figure it's time to finally post first day of school photos. Aren't they growing up fast!

Ethan is now in 7th grade (Mrs. Auble)

Ally is now in 5th grade (Mrs. Prior)

Isn't she gorgeous? I caught her doing this before school.
Oh boy. So not ready for my kids to grow up.

Ryland is now in 2nd grade (Ms. Wermager)

Poor Evie started school less than a week after her fire pit accident. Still cute though!

She is in 4 year old preschool with Miss Jill at Up The Hill Preschool.

Where Does The Time Go?

I have asked myself that question a lot. The last two weeks especially. Where does it go? One thing I can answer for sure, is that it flies. Here we are on the morning of my youngest child heading off to preschool. The Beginning of the End. I have felt it coming on all summer long. I really am at the beginning. Of the end. No more little ones left at home ALL day with me. They are all growing up and spreading their wings. There will be no more little ones to fill their spot. It is literally the beginning of the end of this time in my life. I am not sure how I feel about that.
Isn't she stinking cute? I just love her. Even though she was only gone for two and a half hours I couldn't stop myself from chewing on her almost-gone-baby cheeks when she got home.

She was still asleep when it was time for her to start getting ready to go. I tiptoed into her room, softly waking her up. I asked her if she was ready to get up and go to preschool. She shook her head no. I was surprised, last night she was giddy with excitement. So, instead I asked her if she was ready to go drink some chocolate milk. That got her motor running. She all but leaped out of the bed and ran to the kitchen. I remember thinking, "Well, now I know what the trick is to getting her outta bed in the early morning."
In this photo she is laughing because she looked back and saw Daddy looking through the sidelight by the front door. He was pulling silly faces.

She was anxious to be on her way to Miss Jill's house to see her friends Cedric and Camden. Even her father, the hop-along couldn't keep up.

First Day Of School 2010

Well, it is finally that time of year again. It sure is a bittersweet time, isn't it? This year the kids are all going to a new school. One that requires uniforms. I will be the first to admit, shopping for uniforms is boring. It got old, really quickly. But, look how cute they are!
I just love how even though they are essentially wearing the "same thing", you can still see three distinctive personalities. FYI: ties are not part of the uniform, that's just how Ethan likes to roll. I love it.
Isn't she adorable? I wanted to roll her in sugar and eat her, she looked so cute. She is a big time FOURTH grader this year. Crazy!
Ryland is a big FIRST grader this year. That means he is gone all day! I miss his joyful energy around our house and his constant badgering to play a game with him, any game! Yeah, he's cute like that.
Ryland made me crack up in this photo. He kept standing on his tippy toes trying to be as tall as Ally. He is actually really close to her height, he just failed to notice that her mary janes have a bit of a heel. So, she was kicking his butt without even trying.
This dude is the kicker this year! He is in SIXTH grade, Middle School! Talk about insanity! I can't believe I am old enough to have a middle schooler. We are talking lockers, band, no recess, the works! It's crazy!
Have you seen the movie, Diary of a Wimpy Kid? My kids have, a few times. Well, anyway, the kid in the movie talks about how only the cool kids wear their backpacks on one shoulder. Never both straps. Well, when Ally saw that Ethan was trying to wear his heavy laden backpack on just one shoulder, and was having a bit of a hard time of it, she teased him mercilessly that he was trying to be cool. Here are a few photos of his efforts.
Isn't that a HUGE backpack? I think it weighed more than he did. Welcome to middle school bud.
Here is hoping you have another great year kids! Good Luck and love ya!
