Flag Football Champions

We convinced Ryland to do another year of Flag Football this year instead of Tackle. He is totally gung ho about it but I am just not ready to commit to practices 5 times a week. Yikes!! Thankfully two of his very best buddies were doing one last year of Flag as well, that totally clinched the deal.

They went undefeated the entire season and THEN went on to win the Championship game. He was one excited boy I tell ya!

Some victory photos of some very EXCITED boys!

After the game Ryland wanted to chest bump everyone in sight. It was hilarious. Luckily his Coach and his buddy Dax were up to the challenge. Not without some trepidation though, ha ha!

Super excited and proud of you my boy!

Nate's Wood Badge Ceremony

Tonight I received my Wood Badge beads.
In order to receive your beads
you attend Wood Badge over two weekends and received training and you need to set goals around 5 areas and work on those goals for many months. For example, I worked on Communication, Duty to God, Training, Personal Fitness, and District support. I made goals in each of these areas and once I hit each of them I qualified for my Wood Badge beads.

Les Barker giving part of the presentation.

Part of the ceremony includes receiving a special neckerchief and slide.

We also sang the Wood Badge song. Here I am with Sheila and Ron who were in the same patrol, the Fox patrol.

Singing the Wood Badge song.

Four folks from staff who came to my beading ceremony. Joe, Les, Chris and Chris.

Half of the Fox patrol. Ron Bingham is one of my great Scouting friends. I really look up to him and appreciate his friendship and guidance through the Scouting program.

It was a great night and a great accomplishment to achieve.

First Day of School 2013

It is that time of year again, and it is that day once again.
The FIRST Day of School 2013
This is also the first year that I have all FOUR of the kids in ALL DAY school. Crazy sauce I tell ya. I won't lie, I have mixed feelings about it.

First up is OF COURSE our little First Grader, Evelyn. She is so super excited to be a big First Grader, especially because she gets to eat SCHOOL LUNCH!! All I gotta say is I hope the excitement lasts and it is everything this little girl is hoping it will be. Ha ha This year she is in Miss W's class. We love her. Ryland had her in his Second Grade year.

This boy is stinking excited to be in Mr. Brinkerhoff's class for Fourth Grade. I think it has something to do with NOT being called a TURD GRADER by Mr. B!! Mr. B is officially Ryland's all time favorite teacher and let me tell you, he has had some AMAZING teachers.

Now this cute girl. All I have to say is Middle School, WATCH OUT because my Ally Girl is gonna take you by storm. This Seventh Grader knows what she wants and how to get it done. I can't wait to watch her move mountains.

Last but certainly not least, the HIGH SCHOOLER! Yes! You heard me correctly. This boy is in High School this year! I am not sure ANY of us are ready for this. Ninth Grade here we come!!!

I will admit, it kinda threw me when I looked back and saw my empty van. EMPTY!! How did this happen?? Seriously, where did the time go??

Luckily, due to it being Ally's birthday, I was able to see Evelyn at her first School Lunch with two of her good friends, Ava and Taydree. Can you say EXCITEMENT??
